The quick estimate
Five of every seven days are weekdays, so multiply calendar days by 5/7 (about 0.71) for a rough number of business days, and multiply business days by 7/5 (1.4) for calendar days. Then subtract or add a day for each holiday. Use the converter above when the exact date matters, such as a contract or court deadline.
Example: 30 calendar days from November 20
Start on Friday, November 20, 2026 and count 30 calendar days, which ends on Sunday, December 20, 2026. The start date is not counted and the end date is.
Of those 30 days, 10 are weekend days and 1 is a federal holiday (Thanksgiving Day). That leaves 30 − 10 − 1 = 19 business days.
